The National President Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) Mrs Ijeoma Blessing Ogalla organised a seminar for the Naval Ratings Wives Association (NARAWA) on Monday, 22 July 2024 with the Theme, “Marriage for Couples: A Life Time Relay.”

The event, organised to support rating officer wives whose primary responsibility is to take care of the children and home.

Mrs Ijeoma Ogalla, who was represented by the Vice President of NOWA, Mrs Zainab Akpan revealed that, the kindness was a bit of the welfare agenda by the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla to instil marital values, and also organized skill acquisition programmes and training to uplift their finances in order to support their husbands.

She urges them to always pray for their husbands , “stabilise your homes, and preserve your minds and those of your families, she said.

“We know that either as officers’ wives, ratings’ wives or military wives, our challenges are similar because our husbands are mostly not at home and the children are left with us, she said.

“Sometimes, when these men come back from the forefront of whatever their assignment is, they are faced with long breach of dis-communication. NOWA President said.

“And sometimes, they don’t really tend to know their children as such.

“So, if we can bridge this gap, it can come a long way to really help these women and help our military and navy family as a whole,’’ she noted.
