The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday formally opened its new National Secretariat in Abuja, signaling what party leaders describe as a bold reawakening and a stronger push toward transforming Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration ceremony drew an impressive array of political heavyweights across party lines, including former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, ex-Chief of Staff to the President Babachir Lawal, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former military administrator Tunde Ogbeha, Senator Dino Melaye, and former Senate Minority Leader Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, among others. Their presence underscored growing national curiosity around the ADC’s rising influence.

Addressing party faithful and guests, ADC National Chairman Senator David Mark declared that the party is not only reorganizing but positioning itself as a credible alternative capable of taking over national leadership. He stressed the importance of discipline, internal democracy and unity, urging members to place national interest above personal ambitions.

According to him, the new headquarters is not just an administrative complex but “a nerve centre for policy innovation, grassroots mobilization and strategic political engagement,” reflecting the party’s ambition to reshape governance through integrity and inclusive leadership.

National Publicity Secretary Hon. Abdullahi Bolaji reinforced this message, assuring Nigerians that the ADC is committed to a governance model driven by the people rather than political elites. “Our mandate goes far beyond winning elections,” he said. “It is about delivering real dividends of democracy through policies that uplift communities. We have standards, and there are things we will not allow our members to do.”

He added that the party remains open to experienced politicians, technocrats and emerging leaders who share its vision for a better Nigeria.

The newly commissioned secretariat features modern conference halls, technology-enabled workspaces, and dedicated areas for training and capacity-building — facilities party leaders say will support their nationwide mobilization and strategic planning.

Speakers at the event applauded the ADC’s renewed institutional strength, digital transformation efforts, and focus on youth engagement, describing the party’s evolving structure as a promising blueprint for political relevance and national competitiveness.

With the unveiling of the new headquarters, the ADC signaled not just a structural upgrade but a strategic leap in its ambition to challenge traditional political dominance and offer Nigerians a fresh, people-focused political direction.
