The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intensified enforcement actions against expired and falsely declared imports while recording remarkable revenue performance in 2025. Speaking during a media briefing on Friday, January 23, 2026, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller B.L. Adigun, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to trade facilitation, border security, public health protection, and strict compliance with Customs laws through sustained collaboration with stakeholders and partner agencies.

He disclosed that the Command is currently handing over a 1×20-foot container (GESU3900612) containing 440 bags of 25kg expired Triple Pressed Stearic Acid imported from Indonesia, with a Duty Paid Value of ₦36.56 million, to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

On revenue generation, the Acting Controller announced that the Command recorded ₦147.22 billion in 2025, surpassing its ₦109.44 billion target and exceeding the ₦107.18 billion generated in 2024 by ₦40.03 billion, representing a 35 percent growth.
