Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded significant operational successes across the North-East through sustained, intelligence-driven operations.
The highlight of these achievements is the confirmed neutralisation of JULAIBIB, a high-value ISWAP commander operating within the Gujba axis of the Timbuktu Triangle, during an encounter around Kimba in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State on 30 January 2026.

“Intelligence reports indicate that his elimination has severely disrupted ISWAP’s command and control structure in the area, throwing terrorist elements into disarray, with several fighters also neutralised during the operation.
In further operations in Borno State, OPHK troops, working closely with the Civilian Joint Task Force, conducted a successful ambush between Ngazalgana and Lamusheri communities, neutralising three terrorists and recovering two AK-47 rifles. Another ambush at Tsokorok in Gwoza Local Government Area led to the neutralisation of one terrorist and the recovery of two motorcycles, with no casualties recorded on the side of the troops. These operations form part of deliberate efforts to deny terrorists freedom of movement and degrade their operational capabilities across the Theatre.
According to the statement “In Adamawa State, troops equally recorded notable successes, including the foiling of an armed robbery attempt in Barama community, Mubi North Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of two suspects and recovery of weapons and stolen items.
Earlier operations along the Amtasa–Washim axis in Hong Local Government Area resulted in the rescue of an abducted woman and the recovery of assorted arms and ammunition following a fierce engagement that forced terrorists to withdraw.
Overall, the security situation across the Theatre remains stable, as Operation HADIN KAI continues to demonstrate resolve in protecting lives and property, dismantling terrorist networks, and working with local communities and stakeholders to restore lasting peace and socio-economic stability in the North-East.
