New PTDF Leadership: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu as the new Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), succeeding Ahmed Galadima Aminu, who resigned to contest the 2027 Adamawa State governorship election.
Professional Background: Professor Aliyu, previously the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non Formal Education, is a distinguished academic and seasoned administrator with extensive experience in research, education, and institutional leadership.
Mandate and Expectations: The President tasked Professor Aliyu with leveraging his expertise to reposition the PTDF for enhanced human capital development, innovation, and strategic support for Nigeria’s oil and gas sector in line with national priorities.
TCN Leadership Renewal: President Tinubu also renewed Engineer Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz’s tenure as Managing Director/CEO of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for a second and final term, following a comprehensive assessment of his performance in grid stability, transmission expansion, and system modernization.
National Service and Sector Impact: Both appointments are effective immediately, and the President urged them to carry out their responsibilities with diligence, integrity, and a commitment to national service, reinforcing key institutions in the energy sector under his Renewed Hope Agenda.
