Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, working alongside local vigilante groups, recorded a major success against terrorist elements in Plateau State during coordinated clearance operations.
The operation targeted criminal hideouts across Daba and Seri villages in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas, as part of the ongoing Operation WUTAN DAJI.
In a statement signed by Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh,
Media Information Officer Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace said that,at about 8:30 a.m. on April 9, 2026, troops strategically positioned themselves between Dutsen Zaki and Odare Forest to intercept terrorist movements along known routes.
During the operation, a large group of terrorists riding motorcycles was spotted, prompting troops to engage them swiftly with superior and coordinated firepower.
Following a fierce exchange, 10 terrorists were neutralized, while others fled into nearby forests, abandoning casualties and disrupting their movement.
In a related incident, troops responded to an attack on commuters along the Razat Kafi Abu road axis, forcing the attackers to retreat into surrounding hinterlands.
Security forces immediately launched a pursuit and conducted extensive cordon-and-search operations across Suma Suga, Takwok villages, and nearby mountainous areas.
The operations led to the recovery of arms, ammunition, motorcycles, fuel supplies, and identity materials, as troops continue efforts to track down fleeing terrorists and restore peace in the region.
