The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) recorded significant operational gains between 10 and 16 April 2026 across multiple theatres of operation nationwide.
Troops sustained pressure on terrorist groups including Boko Haram, ISWAP, JAS, kidnappers, and other criminal elements.
In a press statement signed by by Major General Michael Onoja, the Director Defence Media Operation (DDMO)on friday in Abuja said that the Operations led to arrests, rescue of kidnapped victims, seizure of logistics, and neutralisation of several armed criminals.
“In the North East, Operation HADIN KAI intensified efforts against insurgents through aggressive and coordinated campaigns,he said
According to the statement,troops arrested a suspect in Borno State who confessed to supplying fuel to terrorists for about a decade.Raids in Adamawa State resulted in the arrest of 20 suspects and recovery of cash, weapons, and electronic devices.
Additional arrests were made in Yobe State, including suspected informants tracking troop movements.
Troops intercepted a truck carrying concealed medical supplies intended for terrorists, disrupting their logistics network.
Clearance operations across forests in Bauchi, Plateau, and Taraba States led to the destruction of terrorist camps and arrests of key figures.
In the North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA dismantled terrorist networks across several states including Kaduna, Katsina, and Zamfara.
Troops intercepted IED-making materials and arrested suspects linked to previous attacks and kidnappings.
Swift responses to attacks in Katsina and Zamfara states forced terrorists to retreat, abandoning weapons and equipment.
In the North Central region, Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD conducted clearance missions and successfully repelled ambushes without casualties.
Troops captured motorcycles and arrested suspects during engagements with terrorists in Niger State.
Under Operation ENDURING PEACE, troops rescued injured victims, foiled attacks, and arrested suspected kidnappers in Plateau and Kaduna States.
Additional operations led to the rescue of several kidnapped victims in Plateau and Benue States.
Operation WHIRL STROKE recorded successes including arrests at illegal mining sites and disruption of kidnapping syndicates in Kogi State.
Troops also rescued kidnapped victims and neutralised members of criminal gangs linked to previous abductions.
In the South-South and South-East regions, operations led to arrests of suspects, recovery of weapons, and disruption of IPOB/ESN-linked activities.
The Chief of Defence Staff commended troops and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to restoring peace, urging sustained operations in line with the rule of law.
