Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) on 22 April 2026 successfully repelled multiple coordinated terrorist attacks across key locations in the North East theatre, demonstrating high combat readiness and operational superiority.
The attacks targeted Kanama, Ngoshe, and Banki at different times during the day but were decisively thwarted by vigilant troops who responded with effective firepower and control.
No casualties or damage were recorded during the failed assaults, underscoring the troops’ preparedness and their continued dominance in denying terrorists freedom of action.
Following the repelled attacks, OPHK forces launched precision air interdiction missions to sustain offensive pressure on fleeing terrorist elements.
One of the strikes, conducted around 0315 hours at Sowolowolo in the Sambisa Forest axis, successfully destroyed remaining terrorist gun trucks, bringing the total number neutralised to three.
Another precision strike at Kaniram in the Mallam Fatori axis targeted terrorists gathered for burial activities after earlier engagements, leading to the neutralisation of several fleeing and regrouping fighters.
In a separate operation, troops of Sector 1 under the 26 Brigade carried out a search and rescue mission towards the Mandara Mountains, rescuing 15 abducted women and children.
Meanwhile, remnants of JAS elements attempted a retaliatory attack by firing projectiles into Gwoza, but the effort caused no casualties or damage.
