Troops of the Nigerian Army have recorded a major breakthrough in Delta State following a swift and intelligence-driven operation that disrupted criminal activity in Ogidigben Community, Warri South West Local Government Area.
Acting on reports of sporadic gunfire, personnel of Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1, Joint Task Force, Operation DELTA SAFE, moved decisively to restore order and assert control in the troubled area.

“The operation led to the recovery of four AK-47 rifles, along with six magazines and 106 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, dealing a significant blow to armed elements operating within the community.
In addition to the firearms, troops also seized two knives, ten machetes, and four rain boots, further highlighting the scale of preparedness of the suspects for criminal activities.
Two suspected criminals were arrested during the operation and are currently in custody, undergoing preliminary investigation as security agencies work to unravel the network behind the incident.
Commending the troops for their professionalism and resilience, the Commander 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, urged them to maintain the momentum in ongoing operations across the region.
He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to denying criminal elements freedom of action and issued a stern warning to individuals or groups involved in illegal activities to desist or face decisive consequences.
