The Nigerian Army has reinforced its commitment to improving operational readiness by strengthening its training infrastructure through the construction of new facilities at the 3 Division Training School and Shooting Range in Miango, Plateau State.
The newly completed training facilities were commissioned on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu.
The statement was signed by Colonel Appolonia Anele, Acting Director Army Public Relations, on 30 June 2026 on wednesday in Abuja.
According to the statement “During the ceremony, the COAS inaugurated newly constructed hostel blocks designed to provide a more conducive environment for the training and professional development of officers and soldiers.
Lieutenant General Shaibu said the facilities would significantly improve the quality of military training, helping to produce better-equipped, highly skilled, and mission-ready personnel.
He stressed that effective training remains the foundation of the Nigerian Army’s combat effectiveness and its ability to respond to evolving security challenges across the country.
The Army Chief reaffirmed his Command Philosophy, which is anchored on the Soldier First Concept, emphasizing that the welfare and professional development of personnel remain central to building a motivated and combat ready force.
He noted that investing in modern training infrastructure is critical to enhancing the operational capability and professionalism of the Nigerian Army.
Lieutenant General Shaibu commended the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, for initiating the project and ensuring prudent resource management.
He described the project as a reflection of the Nigerian Army’s determination to strengthen its capacity to safeguard Nigeria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security through improved training.
