The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 147 suspected hoodlums during a major statewide security operation aimed at flushing out criminal elements across the state. The exercise, codenamed “Operation Ko Si Aye,” forms part of the command’s ongoing efforts to improve public safety and maintain law and order.
The operation entered its third phase on Saturday, July 19, and was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations. It involved coordinated boundary sweep operations across various parts of Lagos State.
The exercise began at about 6:00 a.m., with police officers conducting targeted raids in identified crime-prone areas. During the operation, 147 suspects were apprehended, while several exhibits believed to be linked to criminal activities were also recovered.
Police authorities disclosed that all the arrested suspects are currently in custody undergoing profiling as investigators work to determine their level of involvement in criminal activities. Further investigations are ongoing.
The Lagos State Police Command said the suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations aimed at keeping the state safe and denying criminals any operating space.
