The Headquarters of the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) has declared one of its personnel, Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu, wanted over his alleged involvement in the illegal sale and supply of military uniforms to terrorists and other criminal elements.

According to the Corps, preliminary investigations revealed that the soldier, who was serving at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory, absconded from his unit on 3 June 2026. Military authorities have since declared him wanted and launched efforts to track him down for investigation and disciplinary action.

The statement was signed by Major Oluwatope Dorcas Aluko, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps, on Thursday 23 July 2026 in Abuja.

The Army said the suspect will face a comprehensive investigation and, if found culpable, appropriate sanctions in line with extant military laws. It stressed that the alleged misconduct is being treated with utmost seriousness due to its implications for national security.

Reaffirming its commitment to discipline, the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps stated that it has zero tolerance for misconduct or any act capable of undermining the operational effectiveness, integrity, and reputation of the Nigerian Army. It warned that any personnel involved in the unauthorized sale or diversion of military uniforms and other controlled items would face the full weight of military and civil laws.

The Corps appealed to members of the public to assist security agencies by providing credible information that could lead to the arrest of the wanted soldier. It urged anyone with useful information to report to the nearest military formation or any security agency.

The Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps assured Nigerians of its unwavering commitment to accountability, professionalism, and the protection of military assets. It added that internal control measures would continue to be strengthened while every allegation of misconduct is thoroughly investigated and offenders held accountable.
