The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has celebrated another major milestone as 50 officers graduated from the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, with officers from the Service’s National Public Relations Unit emerging as the Overall Best and Second Best Graduating Students of Senior Course 14/2026.
The graduation ceremony, held at the Ahmed Makarfi Hall of the College on Friday, 26 June 2026, saw Chief Superintendent of Customs Ridwan Yusuf emerge as the Overall Best Graduating Student, while Chief Superintendent of Customs Nuruddeen Sa’idu secured the position of Second Best Graduating Student. Both distinguished officers serve in the National Public Relations Unit of the Service.
Representing the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Deputy Comptroller General of Customs Sulaiman Chiroma, congratulated the graduating officers for successfully completing one of the Service’s most rigorous professional training programmes.
DCG Chiroma urged the officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and integrity in the discharge of their duties. He reminded them that greater responsibility comes with greater expectations and encouraged them to remain committed to serving the nation with honesty, courage and dedication.
Earlier, the Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs Duwoh Gaura, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing highly skilled officers capable of addressing the evolving demands of Customs administration and border management.
He noted that the College remains focused on supporting the Comptroller General’s vision of building a more efficient, technology-driven and professional Nigeria Customs Service through quality training and capacity development.
The graduation ceremony underscored the Service’s continued investment in human capital development, equipping officers with the knowledge, leadership skills and operational competence required to enhance national security and facilitate legitimate trade.
As part of the graduation activities, the College hosted a Regimental Dinner on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, at the NCCSC Hotel in Gwagwalada to honour the graduating officers. The event was attended by members of the Customs Management Team, senior officers and distinguished guests, with the Comptroller-General represented by Deputy Comptroller-General Sulaiman Chiroma.
