Petroleum Ministry Inaugurate Committee On The Establishment Of An Oil And Gas Investment Promotion office.

The Ministry of Petroleum Resources, on Wednesday, 27th July, 2022, in Abuja, inaugurated a committee on the Establishment of an Oil and Gas Investment Promotion office.

In his remarks at the inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Ministry’s Block of the NNPC Towers, the Director overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Engr.Kamoru Busari, FNSE, said that having an Investment Promotion office in the Ministry was a strategic milestone to get Investors to invest in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas sector. He stated that the initiative would come in handy to Investors given the country’s enormous Oil and Gas deposits.

The inauguration, according to Engr. Busari, was sequel to the approval granted by the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva on 22nd June, 2022.

“The Oil and Gas Investment Promotion Office is expected to be well equipped to support Investors and further create awareness to Investors about Nigeria as an attractive destination for Oil and Gas Investment which when established will act as a One Stop Shop of Oil and Gas Investment”, Busari informed.

Members of the Committee are; Director Planning and Statistics in the Ministry, Mr.Musa Sa’eed Talle (Chairman), Assistant Director (Upstream), Usoroh E. Thomas, Technical Assistant to Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Down Stream) Dr. Ishaku P. Abner, Technical Assistant-COS (HMSPR) Ogar Ugbizi, Assistant Chief Petroleum Engineer Tejumola Olasunkanmi, Technical Assistant-COS (HMSPR), while Engr. Bamidele Dada will serve as the Secretary.

The Terms of Reference include; to create, examine and consolidate a framework for the Ministry’s Oil and Gas Investment Promotion Office, take into account any relevant submissions and contributions that will help to create the Oil and Gas Investment Promotion Office, and to carry out any other pertinent action or directives that will aid in the execution of this task.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr.Musa Sa’eed Talle, appreciated the Management for the confidence reposed on them and promised that they will work assiduously to actualize the mandate and terms of reference given to them.
