The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is facing a last-minute setback ahead of its national convention after the management of Rainbow Event Centre in Garki, Abuja, abruptly withdrew permission for the event.
The decision comes just hours before the convention was scheduled to take place.
According to the party, all necessary payments had been made and preparations were fully completed at the venue before the unexpected development.
The sudden reversal has thrown logistics into disarray, raising concerns about the convention’s immediate future.
The venue owner reportedly cited intense pressure from the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as the reason for the withdrawal.
He allegedly warned that proceeding with the event could lead to the revocation of his operational licence.
The ADC has expressed concern over the situation, describing it as a major disruption and hinting at possible political interference.
As the situation unfolds, uncertainty remains over whether the convention will proceed as planned or be relocated.
